‘Bored’ Control-

A skateboard, literary, & performance arts exhibition by the students of FAIR High School

Rivard Art Education and The Loft Literary Center are pleased to announce a collaborative project with the brightest young minds of the FAIR High School in Downtown Minneapolis.  The students of FAIR have worked for over 3 months to create 40+ original works of art on skateboards.  In an exciting partnership with The Loft Literary Center, and Hip Hop History, the opening night will be a visual and performance arts exhibition of all student artists. Join us for the opening reception at the Target Performance Arts Center on January 19th, 2017 at 6pm.  Reading and performances will begin at 7pm.

The FAIR High School is a unique educational alternative dedicated to helping students discovers their passions. Inspiration In Motion, the Rivard Art Education is a program developed by professional artist Mark Rivard that aims to inspire young minds to dream big and create their own unique path in life.  Rivard has worked with students around the globe over the past seven years, and has helped thousands of students tell their own stories through artistically driven skateboard designs.

Rivard Art Education is partnering with The Loft Literary Center, and Chadwick Phillips the author of the popular FAIR program Hip Hop History.  Through this collaborative partnership the students have been pushed to further explore the written word and a creative flexibility in showcasing that expression. Visual + Musical + Literary = ‘Bored’ Control

We invite you to get to know these students and see their creations at ‘Bored’ Control- A Skateboard, Literary, & Performance Arts Exhibition on January 19th, from 6-9pm.
